Troubleshoot sessions and recitations
Preserve the real teaching record. Do not create a duplicate session or recitation before identifying the active school, halqa, date, and session state.

Session cannot be created
Section titled “Session cannot be created”- Confirm an active school and appropriate semester.
- Confirm that the halqa is active.
- A sheikh must be assigned or eligible for the halqa.
- Check the effective monthly session limit.
- Look for an existing open session representing the same meeting.
Learner is missing
Section titled “Learner is missing”- Verify the learner belongs to the session’s school and halqa.
- Check learner active state and semester context.
- If the session is already open, correct the learner or halqa setup through the approved administrative workflow.
- Refresh the intended session; do not add another learner with a similar name.
Recitation cannot be recorded
Section titled “Recitation cannot be recorded”- Mark the learner Present first.
- Keep the session open.
- Select a valid recitation type.
- Choose a canonical Quran start and end in the permitted order.
- Keep rating within the halqa’s grading scale.
- Use only supported mistake tags and note length.
A zero rating deliberately records a repeat attempt. It is not positive progress and can affect an eligible Learning Plan outcome.
Wrong line or page total
Section titled “Wrong line or page total”Verify the Quran range first. Line workload comes from the supported Quran measure; structural page coverage is a separate calculation. Do not overwrite the range to force a preferred total.
Session closed too early
Section titled “Session closed too early”Closing locks attendance and recitation editing. Do not recreate replacement history silently. Record the problem and follow the school’s approved correction process with the responsible administrator.
Safe escalation
Section titled “Safe escalation”Provide the school, halqa, session date, visible session state, learner, task, and error text. Exclude private notes and unrelated learner data.
