Control publication and planning policies

Waqar resolves one effective publication policy for every learner. The policy controls whether future assignments are manual, drafted for approval, or published automatically.

The most specific configured value wins:

1. School default from Learning Plans settings.
2. Halqa override, when explicitly selected.
3. Student override, when explicitly selected.

A student’s Pause automation switch is independent of the selected mode. If the school disables Learning Plans, automation is paused for everyone. The plan page shows Effective policy and Source so staff can verify the result before acting.

1. Open Settings → Learning Plans settings.
2. Choose Teacher managed, Approval required, or Automatic publishing.
3. Choose Save changes.

Use Approval required when a human must inspect generated Quran ranges before learners or parents see them.

1. Open Halqas and select the halqa.
2. Find Halqa Learning Plans policy.
3. Keep Use school setting, or select an explicit publication mode.
4. Save.
5. Open a learner’s plan and verify its Effective policy.

The halqa selection affects learners in that halqa unless a student override is more specific.

1. Open the learner.
2. Find Student override.
3. Keep Use halqa setting, or choose an explicit mode.
4. Select Pause automation when future generation must stop temporarily.
5. Save and verify the policy source on the plan.

Pausing automation does not cancel the plan or erase assignments. Staff can still review preserved records and use permitted manual controls.

Workload targets, units, tolerance, boundary preferences, minimum workload, and small-remainder handling follow a separate specificity chain: school → halqa → plan → track. The plan’s Effective configuration identifies the selected values. Do not assume the publication-policy source is also the workload source.
