Generate and create assignments

Assignments turn a plan into work for a date or the next session. An assignment can combine one or more ordered segments from the plan’s tracks.

Generation requires an active plan, an enabled feature, a policy of Approval required or Automatic publishing, and a supported Quran dataset.

1. Open Progress → Learning Plans and select the plan.
2. Verify the Effective policy and every track’s Effective configuration.
3. Choose Fill upcoming window.
4. Review every new assignment’s date, status, source, explanation, and ordered segments.
5. In approval mode, select acceptable drafts and choose Approve selected, or inspect each draft individually.

Waqar counts existing draft, published, in-progress, and postponed assignments toward the configured window. It creates only the missing slots. Automatic mode publishes generated work immediately; approval mode leaves it as draft.

1. Open the learner’s current plan.
2. Choose Manual assignment.
3. Set Due date, or leave the supported next-session choice.
4. For every segment, choose its plan track and enter a valid start and end.
5. Use Add segment as needed and preserve the intended teaching order.
6. Add an optional teacher-facing explanation.
7. Put staff-only information in Internal notes; never copy it into a learner- or parent-facing explanation.
8. Choose Save as draft or Publish assignment.
9. Verify the assignment in the plan and, when due, in the live session.

For descending curricula, use a separate segment for each surah while keeping ayahs ascending inside each segment.

Confirm:

• the learner, date, track type, and Quran range;
• the target, actual workload, tolerance, and selection explanation;
• that no segment exceeds the intended destination;
• that staff notes contain no unnecessary sensitive information;
• the intended publication status.

Do not publish merely because generation succeeded. Use assignment lifecycle for approval, postponement, replacement, and history.
