Configure school settings
School settings affect every user in the active workspace. Review the intended school before saving and change one group of settings at a time.
Update school details
Section titled “Update school details”- Open Settings as a school administrator.
- Review the school or center name, type, city, and timezone.
- Correct the required values.
- Choose Save changes.
- Reopen a dated view and confirm that the timezone behaves as expected.
The timezone influences school dates and reporting boundaries. Changing it does not rewrite the historical meaning of carelessly entered dates, so coordinate the change with staff.
School logo
Section titled “School logo”Where the plan and feature allow it, upload a suitable school logo and save the change. Use an image the school is authorized to publish. The supported logo is limited branding: it does not create a white-label product, custom application, or school-owned domain.
Protected setting groups
Section titled “Protected setting groups”The page can also expose separate controls for optional Learning Plans, planning defaults, and API keys. These are not ordinary profile preferences:
- enabling Learning Plans affects which planning workflows appear;
- planning defaults can be inherited by halqas and students;
- creating an API key produces a server credential with selected scopes;
- revoking a key stops that integration from authenticating.
Read the relevant guide and record the reason and owner before changing a protected setting. Do not paste API secrets into school notes.
Validate a change
Section titled “Validate a change”After saving:
- Confirm the success message.
- Reload Settings and verify the stored value.
- Check a representative affected screen.
- Inform staff before a workflow or timezone change takes effect.
If saving is denied, confirm the active school, administrator role, required field format, plan/feature availability, and any displayed capacity rule.
