Statuses and states

Statuses explain where a record is in its lifecycle. They do not grant permission: your role, active school, feature availability, and ownership checks still apply.

AreaStatusMeaning
AccountUnverified / verifiedWhether the account’s email has completed verification
SchoolPending approvalRegistration was received but platform approval is not complete
SchoolActiveApproved and available to authorized members
SchoolInactiveTemporarily unavailable to school members
InvitationPendingSent but not yet accepted
InvitationAcceptedThe invited account completed the link
MembershipActiveThe user can use that school within the assigned role
MembershipInactiveSchool access through that membership is disabled

A verified account is not the same as an active school membership. If school access is denied, check the account, school, invitation, and membership separately.

AreaStatusMeaning
SemesterPlannedPrepared for future use
SemesterActiveThe current working semester
SemesterArchivedRetained as history and no longer current
StudentActiveIncluded in current school work
StudentInactiveKept in school history but excluded from normal active lists
StudentGraduatedCompleted study at the school
AttendancePresentAttended the session
AttendanceAbsentDid not attend
AttendanceExcusedDid not attend and has an accepted excuse

Changing a learner’s status preserves historical teaching records. Use the status that reflects the learner’s real relationship with the school instead of deleting history.

A session is open while authorized staff record attendance and recitations. After it is ended, its teaching record is locked against normal editing. See sessions before closing one.

Each recitation can have a rating. A repeat outcome means the configured completion threshold was not met; it is not the same as an absence. Read ratings and repeats for the teaching workflow.

Learning Plans are optional. A plan can be:

  • Draft — being prepared and not yet driving current work.
  • Active — the current plan used for assignment generation and tracking.
  • Paused — retained, but normal planning progression is suspended.
  • Completed — intentionally finished.
  • Cancelled — stopped without completion.

An assignment can be draft, published, in progress, completed, rejected, postponed, needs repeat, superseded, or cancelled. Published and in-progress work is current teaching work. A superseded item has been replaced and should not be completed as if it were current. Learn the allowed actions in assignment lifecycle.

StatusMeaning
ActiveThe current subscription is eligible, subject to its features and limits
TrialTemporarily eligible until the displayed trial end
Past dueNo longer treated as eligible for controlled services
CancelledSubscription eligibility has ended

Subscription status does not promise that every feature is available. Check feature availability for plan defaults, overrides, limits, and controlled rollout conditions.

An API key can be active, expired, or revoked. An active key can still be denied when its school, subscription, feature, rollout, scope, network, or quota requirements are not satisfied. Read API authentication and scopes for safe diagnosis.

  1. Refresh the page and confirm the active school.
  2. Check whether another authorized user changed the record.
  3. Open the relevant detail page and review the current status and available actions.
  4. Ask a school administrator about school, membership, subscription, or feature status.
  5. Contact support with the page, approximate time, and a non-sensitive description. Never send a password, recovery link, invitation link, or API key.
