Control parent visibility of assignments
Parent visibility is school-controlled and read-only. It gives a linked parent useful next-work context without exposing planning controls or staff-only notes.

Requirements for an assignment to appear
Section titled “Requirements for an assignment to appear”All of these must be true:
- Learning Plans are enabled for the school.
- Parent assignment visibility is Published assignments only.
- The parent account is linked to that child.
- The child’s plan is active.
- The assignment is published or in progress.
If any condition is false, the parent sees no current published assignment rather than a draft or private substitute.
Configure parent visibility
Section titled “Configure parent visibility”- As a school administrator, open Settings.
- Find Learning Plans settings.
- Under Parent assignment visibility, choose:
- Published assignments only to show eligible work; or
- Hide assignments to remove Learning Plan assignments from the parent progress view.
- Choose Save changes.
- Verify that the intended parent invitation was accepted and linked to the correct child.
- Test with a sanitized parent account before relying on the setting.
The setting is school-wide. Publishing an assignment can make it immediately visible to an eligible linked parent.
What a parent can see
Section titled “What a parent can see”The parent progress view can show the child’s name, due context, safe status, ordered Quran segments, recitation type, and a localized safe explanation. The parent can use this to support preparation but cannot approve, edit, postpone, regenerate, or resolve the assignment.
What remains private
Section titled “What remains private”Parents do not receive:
- draft, rejected, superseded, or cancelled assignments;
- another learner’s plan or assignments;
- staff-only notes;
- policy, automation, workload, or dataset controls;
- ambiguous-match controls;
- private operational or audit information.
Troubleshoot missing work
Section titled “Troubleshoot missing work”The parent or administrator should check, in order:
- the active school and accepted parent-child link;
- Learning Plans enablement and parent visibility;
- the plan is active;
- the assignment is published or in progress.
Do not republish unsuitable work only to make a card appear. See the parent quick start for the rest of the portal.
