Understand Learning Plans
Learning Plans are Waqar’s optional layer for turning a learner’s Quran destination into reviewable future assignments. Schools can keep using sessions, attendance, and recitations without enabling them.

What a plan contains
Section titled “What a plan contains”A Learning Plan connects:
- one learner and a Quran start and destination;
- a target date and curriculum direction;
- one or more recitation tracks;
- a workload, unit, and tolerance for every track;
- a publication policy;
- dated or next-session assignments made of ordered Quran segments;
- recorded outcomes, preserved history, and future replanning.
Only one draft, active, or paused plan can be current for a learner. Completed and cancelled plans remain history.
Who does what
Section titled “Who does what”- A school administrator enables the feature, sets school defaults, creates and edits plans, changes plan status, and can perform assignment work.
- A sheikh sees plans for assigned learners and can generate, review, publish, replace, or postpone permitted assignments. A sheikh cannot create a plan or change its destination.
- A parent can see only the linked child’s published assignment when the school allows parent visibility. Drafts, private notes, and planning controls are never parent content.
The normal workflow
Section titled “The normal workflow”- The administrator opens Settings, enables Learning Plans, and saves the publication and progress defaults.
- The administrator opens Progress → Learning Plans and chooses Create Learning Plan.
- They select the learner, destination, direction, dates, tracks, workloads, and starting status.
- An administrator or sheikh reviews or creates assignments according to the effective policy.
- Published work appears in the teaching workflow.
- A recorded recitation can complete, partially complete, or require a repeat for a matching segment.
- Waqar preserves evidence already started or completed and adjusts eligible generated future work.
Important safeguards
Section titled “Important safeguards”- Generated work is a proposal unless the effective mode publishes it automatically.
- A destination or forecast does not replace teacher judgment.
- Page-based planning is available only when Waqar shows that the selected Quran dataset supports verified page positions.
- Disabling the feature pauses planning automation; it does not delete ordinary sessions or recitations.
