Match recitations to planned work

When staff record a recitation, Waqar tries to connect that evidence to an active published assignment segment for the same learner and recitation type. The recitation remains the teaching record whether or not a match is found.

The recitation must:

• belong to the same learner and school;
• use the same recitation type as the plan track;
• fall inside an eligible published or in-progress assignment segment;
• identify one intended assignment unambiguously.

Waqar does not silently choose when the same coverage could belong to more than one assignment.

• At or above the school’s completion threshold, full coverage completes the segment.
• Valid coverage that stops before the segment’s end records partial progress and retains the next remaining ayah.
• Rating zero, or a positive rating below the completion threshold, records a repeat outcome and can create a repeat follow-up.
• Coverage beyond or inconsistent with the expected range remains explicit for review; it does not erase the original assignment.

After completion or partial progress, eligible generated future work can be maintained or replanned. Started and completed evidence remains protected.

From a live session, Teach planned segment fills the exact learner, type, and remaining range. Waqar checks that exact segment again when saving; stale, inactive, cross-school, or altered selections create no recitation. A valid save refreshes the recitation, assignment, session totals, and recent context without requiring the teacher to retype the range.

1. Open Progress.
2. Find Recitations needing a match.
3. Verify the learner, recitation type, recorded Quran coverage, and time.
4. Compare every offered assignment’s date and Quran segment.
5. Select the intended option under Match to.
6. Submit the choice.
7. Open the plan and confirm the resulting segment and assignment state.

Manual resolution links the existing recitation; it does not change the Quran range, rating, mistakes, or notes that were originally recorded.

Check:

• the plan is active;
• the assignment is published or in progress;
• its recitation type matches;
• the recorded range sits inside the remaining planned segment;
• the learner and session belong to the intended school;
• the assignment has not been rejected, cancelled, or superseded.

Do not create a duplicate recitation just to force matching. Correct the appropriate planning item or follow the school’s approved record-correction process. See ratings and repeats and replanning.
