Record attendance

Attendance is recorded per student inside an open session. The current state also controls who can be selected for a recitation.

Waqar live attendance controls beside the session recitation area

StateUse it whenImmediate effect
PresentThe student participated in the meetingThe student becomes available for recitation entry
AbsentThe student did not attendThe student cannot receive a recitation; an eligible linked parent can receive an absence alert
ExcusedThe school records the non-attendance as excusedThe student cannot receive a recitation
Not recordedNo state has been chosen yetThe attendance record is incomplete and recitation entry is unavailable
  1. Open the correct session and confirm it is still open.
  2. Compare the student list with the actual halqa.
  3. Choose Present, Absent, or Excused for each student.
  4. Recheck students with Not recorded.
  5. Add recitations for present students.
  6. Review attendance before closing the session.

Buttons update the student’s saved state. Avoid rapidly selecting multiple states; wait for the chosen state to appear.

When a student changes to Absent, Waqar can notify a linked parent. When Learning Plans are available, changing a learner to Absent or Excused can trigger the supported absence handling for eligible future assignments. Completed work is not rewritten.

Because these effects depend on the transition, correct an accidental state promptly while the session is open. Do not use attendance to simulate a recitation outcome.

The responsible sheikh can edit their permitted session; school administrators can perform authorized oversight. A closed session rejects attendance changes. If the wrong students appear, correct the halqa or semester structure rather than marking unrelated students absent.
