Troubleshoot reports and exports
An empty or unavailable report often reflects role, plan, feature, filter, semester, or missing source records. Do not alter teaching history to make a report look populated.

Report is empty
Section titled “Report is empty”- Verify the active school.
- Check the report’s permitted role.
- Confirm the semester, date range, halqa, learner, recitation type, and status filters.
- Remove filters one at a time.
- Verify that source sessions, attendance, or recitations were actually recorded.
- Distinguish “no matching records” from a loading or server error.
Report or export is unavailable
Section titled “Report or export is unavailable”- School-administration reports can be admin-only.
- A sheikh may see only assigned learners or specific planning reports.
- A parent gets linked-child read views, not administrative exports.
- PDF availability differs from CSV/XLSX availability.
- CSV/XLSX and planning exports require their effective plan or feature.
Review report and export availability before changing a subscription or role.
Download fails
Section titled “Download fails”- Submit the export once and allow it to finish.
- Check browser download permission and available storage.
- Keep the original extension.
- For CSV, import as UTF-8 and choose a comma delimiter.
- Open XLSX in a compatible spreadsheet application.
- Do not repeatedly request a rate-limited PDF or export.
Values look wrong
Section titled “Values look wrong”Return to the source record and filter. For planning output, verify the plan, assignment, Quran range, dataset capability, effective workload, tolerance, and selected boundary. Structural pages and 15-line equivalents are separate measures. Forecasts are projections, not guarantees.
Safe escalation
Section titled “Safe escalation”Provide the report name, school, role, filters, approximate time, format, and visible error. Use a sanitized screenshot when needed. Do not send an unredacted export or unrelated learner data.
